Background:
Lynsted and Norton Primary School is a rural village school. There are four classes, three of them vertically-grouped, to accommodate 97 pupils from a broad catchment area. The school has developed links with the local community, accessing parish facilities such as the church, a local orchard and ancient woodland, and bringing in local experts such as the beekeeper and naturalists, and visiting local farms during the lambing season. The school belongs to a consortium of schools which have developed sporting, creative and professional links, sharing training, accessing resouces and developing projects to support gifted and talented pupils, and early years and secondary transition.
