Background:
Grove Park School is situated on the edge of a private housing estate, set in its own extensive grounds. The main school buildings were opened in 1974, with eight permanent classrooms, a hall, a library, various work areas and the offices. In 1989 a new extension was opened which consisted of four classrooms with shared activity areas, a new library area. There are also two smaller rooms for specialist group teaching, such as music or small group teaching of children with special needs. A wide range of clubs and activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These include football, rugby, netball, rounders and music. Children are encouraged to use their creative, imaginative and practical skills through a balanced programme of art/craft and design activities working individually, in small groups or as a whole class. The school aims to provide a happy and secure learning environment.
