Background:
Founded in 1854; moved to current site in 1907; large brick-built main building containing three classrooms and a further five external classrooms; new building due for completion in 2004. The rural setting and grounds of the school are delightful. The school hall, of which the school is proud, was built following successful community-wide fundraising activity. Wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs available; school currently has Kent Under-9 chess champion among pupils as well as chess teams competing in national tournaments. On Saturdays, netball and football clubs are run; all children able to swim by the time they leave the school. The school has 'thriving' Friends Association, which organises many extra events. DfES achievement award in 2001; Sportsmark; Investor in People status. Over-subscribed, with four applications per place.
