Background:

The school'serves Strood, a suburb of Rochester. It occupies a spacious single storey building, with rooms to accommodate the library, television and small group work. It is fortunate in being set in extensive grounds with areas for games and environmental studies. Both the infant and junior departments of the school have large playgrounds, which are securely fenced in. Both departments also have halls in which gymnastics, dance, drama, music and assemblies take place. The school has excellent facilities including a well-resourced ICT suite. Most of its classrooms are either newly built or newly refurbished. In addition the school has a purpose-built nursery with excellent facilities, which takes children aged three, and above. There is wheelchair access to the majority of the building. A number of activities take place in school, including discos, dancing, art and cookery. Children have the opportunity to perform and listen to music from a wide variety of cultures, times and styles. The school'seeks to prepare the child for life as a responsible and caring member of society.
