Background:
Opened in 1954, the school has a 'spacious' single-storey building with two double demountable classrooms which are designated for hearing-impaired children. Under the guidance of Learning Through Landscapes initiative the grounds were developed to reflect a 'range of habitats'. The students generally come from the housing estates to the south-east of Maidstone called Slapway and 15 per cent achieved grammar school places in 1999. Football, athletics and cross-country results have 'always been high'. In addition, the school has two choirs, four recorder groups, a guitar club and 'all the usual sports clubs'. It also has Kingsquad, a Christian club. Community links with local churches, old people's homes and shops are described as 'strong'. Moleshill welcomes parents and their concerns are 'valued'. The school is oversubscribed.
