Background:
Angley is set in extensive grounds on the outskirts of the small town of Cranbrook. It is a co-educational school which provides a 'challenging, competitive and caring environment where students of all abilities can achieve their full potential, and be fully prepared to take their place in the community.' Opened in 1972 as a high school for 11-16 year olds, an initially vocational sixth form was added in 1995 which now offers an increasing range of A-levels alongside vocational GNVQs. The school has an award-winning farm with a very active Young Farmers club. It has been awarded a Sports Mark and recently attained sports college status. The school has donated land to the local authority to build a sports centre and swimming pool to be shared by the community and the school.
