Background:
Lenham is situated on the A20 London to Folkestone road between Maidstone and Ashford in Kent. It is a community school with seven classes, one for each year group. The classes are arranged in two wings separated by a spacious hall. There is a library, a resources room and a reception area as well as offices and kitchen. The north wing was extended in the summer of 2002 to include another classroom and a computer room for all classes to use. Lenham nursery leases one classroom from the school. The school has lovely grounds with an adventure play area, very large playing field, a wildlife area, copse and many trees. The school has achieved 'Activemark' status for its sporting provision. Music has a particularly high profile alongside sporting activities. The school is proud of its out of hours provision and currently has four clubs offering three different sports. The school aims to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment, suited to the various stages of development of children attending school.
