Background:

The churches at Swingfield, Denton and Woolton founded Selsted Church of England Primary School in 1871. This school has strong links with Elham and Hawkinge parishes. It has strong links with a school in Avion (Normandy). A new hall for sports and the arts opens in September. The school is currently applying for the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. The school is one of two schools in Kent to benefit from the national community and School Halls project for the sports and the arts. Friends of the school (FOSS) are a supportive group in the school.
