Background:
Originally founded in 1928 and known until recently as Astor County Primary, this 'popular' school accepts pupils from all over Dover. In 1999 the school moved into a 'grand new refurbished' building vacated by Astor secondary school. Priory Fields provides a 'caring, well organised and positive' ethos in which pupils make 'sound progress in their learning'. The teachers 'work closely' with parents and believe in a 'fair and friendly' partnership with the local community. Many after-school activites are available including dancing, chess, football, rounders, art, information and communications technology (ICT), hockey, cricket and an environmental club.
