Background:
Charlton Church of England Primary School was founded in the late 19th century and still occupies its original building, with the addition of a new Key Stage 1 building opened in 1997. It is situated in the town of Dover and maintains close links with Charlton Church and other churches in the town. Sports include games, gym, dance, rounders, netball, football and rugby, There is an active chess club, and children regularly compete in national finals. Every year, children raise funds for charities. Past beneficiaries have included the Goodwill Foundation in Southern India and Denelza House children's hospice. The school is raising funds to support a teacher in Africa this year.
