Background:

Sandwich Technology School founded in 1935. The school has over 750-networked computers connected to the Internet, whilst its e-learning portal enables both students and parent's access to the curriculum and learning resources at all times. Students are able to access CAD machines, digital cameras and recorders, video-editing equipment and video-conferencing facilities. Interactive whiteboards and data projectors are used as learning and teaching tool throughout the school. Students are offered opportunities in a variety of both academic and vocational courses. The school building includes: specialist rooms, housing music, art and drama as well as soundproofed rooms and a purpose-built recording studio with digital editing equipment. A building project due to be completed in 2005 has seen the addition of anew community learning centre, new technology workshops, school cinema and state of the art classrooms. The school aims to foster an understanding of local, national and international dimensions.
