Background:
St Eanswythe's Church of England Primary School was founded in 1876. The current building was completed in 1902, and refurbished in 2000. A new classroom was built in 2003. It is a town-centre school opposite the Church. There is no school field, so it uses the facilities of St Mary Westbrook School via an independent state school partnership. The school offers activities, which includes trampolining, tag rugby, football and netball, curling after -school. It also provides extra-curricular activities, which includes: recorders, drama, and social club, where children play board games. The school offers canoeing, skiing, golf and water polo occasionally. The school is a local curling champion. The school aims to enable children to reach their full potential; spiritually, morally, academically and socially.
