Background:
Leigh CTC was founded in 1990 as part of a government initiative to provide an education, which has modern technology, and relevance to industry as a focus. The college has a business centre, three information and communication technology rooms, 12 science laboratories, drama studio, music suite and recording studio, five art studios including a dark room, a sports hall, two gymnasia, extensive grounds including tennis courts, pitches and a grassed running track. It has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including rugby, football, hockey, cricket and basketball. The school has many industry links with companies large and small, local and international. The college aims to ensure that all students, whatever their ability, achieve maximum attainment and acquire appropriate qualifications.
