Background:
Kingsdown and Ringwould CofE Primary School was founded in 1873, and moved to its new buildings in Kingsdown in 1987. There are seven class bases, an activity and drama area, a hall, a medical room, a special educational needs room, a design and technology area, a kitchen and a staff-room, as well as the usual office accommodation. The main hall is equipped with a stage and is also used as a gymnasium with fixed and portable apparatus. Outside, the grounds include a conservation area and pond, play space and an adjoining field. The school has an environmental area equipped with strategically placed bird boxes, bat boxes and a hedgehog box. The school's 'Green Gang' ensures water recycling from the mobile roof, and holds spring and summer meetings to study environmental issues. Extra-curricular activities include sports, homework, craft, internet and a school newspaper.
