Background:

Thames View Junior School forms part of a pleasant campus with Thames View Infant School and Rainham Mark Grammar School. It enjoys close links with both these schools and are thus able to enhance the children's learning opportunities. It consists of twelve classrooms grouped around the assembly hall that converts to a well-equipped gymnasium. The dining room has been refurbished to create a pleasant area for children at lunchtimes and also additional teaching space during lessons. It has excellent facilities, which include a large field, two playgrounds as well as the hall. The national curriculum specifies attainment targets at eight levels between the ages of five and sixteen years. The school offers a variety of clubs to children at lunchtime and after-school. These include football, music tuition in brass and woodwind instruments, drama, computer, recorder, netball, science, line dancing, art, athletics, cricket, sewing and table tennis. The school aims to provide opportunities, which encourages each person to realise their potential and develop their self-esteem.
