Background:
Woodlands Junior School was opened in September 1964 and caters for boys and girls, aged seven to 11 years. It offers 12 classrooms, a music room, a library, a hall with fixed apparatus and an opportunity centre. The building is set in pleasant grounds with a large field, heated open air swimming pool and an adventure play area. A computer suite was set up in June 2001. A variety of games are on offer and pupils can join a number of clubs including music, art and craft and physical activities. The school has a strong musical tradition. Educational visits are also arranged as and when appropriate. The school aims for children to operate as independent learners and thinkers and to inspire a love of learning.
