Background:

Darrick Wood School is a co-educational all-ability foundation school and takes in eight-forms of entry each year. It is housed in modern buildings on a site surrounded by gardens, playing fields and tennis courts. Its facilities include an assembly hall and a fully-equipped dance studio. The facilities used by the pupils include a sports hall (including indoor cricket nets), gymnasium, performing arts studio, fitness suite, netball and tennis courts, two rugby pitches, two football pitches, a hockey pitch, a grass athletics track with area for field events, an all weather strip, an all weather hockey pitch and easy access to Darrick Wood pool.The school has strong links with local clubs and associations, and its pupils are attaining ever higher standards of performance and representative honours. Current pupils have gained representative honours in football, rugby, hockey, swimming, athletics, gymnastics, cricket and volleyball.
