Background:
Founded in 1867, East Peckham Primary School has a 'long, unusual and fascinating history'. The school'stands in five acres of fields and garden at the edge of the village. It is a blend of traditional 19th century school house and 'airy modern' buildings. In addition to the formal programme of lessons the school offers 'a variety' of clubs and groups who meet outside normal school hours, these include football, netball, drama, choir, tennis and science clubs. The children and staff take part in village events and have a 'close relationship' with the Anglican and Methodist churches and enjoys assemblies led by both.
