Background:
Kemsing Primary School was established in 1885 and is set in attractive grounds at the foot of the North Downs. The school houses seven classrooms, which are large, bright and well-resourced. Each class has computers with internet access and several rooms now benefit from interactive whiteboards which are an excellent tool for learning. The school boasts an indoor heated swimming pool and all children have swimming lessons from a qualified instructor. It also has a large playing field, an adventure trail and an environmental area for pond dipping and mini-beast hunts. Children are encouraged to participate in clubs, which include the following: athletics, chamber choir, Christian club, cross-country, dance, drama, football, French, guitar, gymnastics, hockey, kwik cricket, netball, recorders, watch club. The children also have the opportunity to perform, compose, and listen and to appraise music throughout the school. The school also welcomes many visitors into school each year, ranging from theatre groups, wildlife experts, road safety officers and local artists. The school aims to provide welcoming and happy atmosphere.
