Background:
Palm Bay Primary opened in September 1995. It is housed in a building of 'modern design' which is 'idyllically' situated on a cliff overlooking the sea on the outskirts of Margate. Pupils have had 'successful' SAT results since the school opened and the school is particularly proud of its 'exceptional' performance despite the fact that a significant percentage of pupils have special educational needs. Sport 'features strongly' in the life of the school, which competes in football, hocket, netball, swimming and cricket. There is a 'rapidly growing' gym club which has enjoyed regional and county success and the school has twice won the Thanet Primary School Swimming Championships. The hockey team came third out of almost 100 schools in a recent county competition. There are 'growing' links with the community strengthened by the 'already strong' links with the local church. There is a nominated charity each year and also a successful and supportive Parent-Teacher Association.
