Background:
Founded in 1878; strong links with parish of Northfleet; pre-school on site. The children raise money for many charities. Extra-curricular activities include recorders, rugby, football, choir, athletics and art. Opportunities to participate in gymnastics, swimming and games lessons. There is an ICT suite and library on site. Friends of St Joseph's raise funds throughout the year to enrich the curriculum further. Visiting theatre groups and outside speakers regularly invited in to the school. Three residential visits available every year. Over-subscribed, with more than two applications per place. Beacon status (2001); Investor in People status (2004); DfES achievement award (2001); training school status. Ethos: 'Catholic school that aims to provide a warm and friendly environment'.
